Distanz (α+β+γ+δ+ε+ζ)

Distanz is a long tape loop of instrumental music which runs through six independent playback units. They all play different temporal instances of the tape simultaneously. The overall composition is defined by the distances the individual playback units have to their predecessor. By altering the spatial layout of the tape machines, the temporal differences of the repetitions are altered as well, recombining the piece in a new way. Thus the composition is being recomposed with every exhibition by the spatial conditions found in the exhibition space.
